Before opening, or after closing?
Explain whether you are locked out before opening or cannot secure the entrance at closing. Mention whether another entrance can be used and whether anyone still needs the affected door. The people using the premises matter as much as the key in your hand.
For a small shop, business locksmith questions should identify the actual door and existing hardware. A front customer door and a rear staff door can serve different purposes. Mention shared access and the person responsible for the building before deciding on a change that affects other occupants.
Tell us what your hand feels
Does the key stop before completing a turn, spin without moving the latch, or feel normal while the door stays stuck? Those are useful observations. A recently loose handle is worth mentioning too. Avoid forcing the key or trying improvised repairs while you are working out what needs attention.
The lock repair page explains how a lock problem can differ from the door's alignment. A photo may help describe the visible hardware if one is requested, but do not publish keys, private entry codes or other sensitive details in a public message. Plain words are a perfectly good starting point.
A house key has a different job
At home, the concern may be a key held by a former occupant rather than a failed mechanism. Count the entrances involved and describe which ones already share a key. Rekeying suitable locks can be discussed separately from worn handles, appearance changes or replacing an incompatible cylinder.
If your key problem is instead with a car parked near the Square, provide the street or parking area and vehicle details. Marietta covers much more than its central landmark, and postal addresses extend farther still. Give the full location so availability and the appropriate work can be checked for the actual request.
